Telangana born: Here’s a look at who said what




New Delhi: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the Telangana Bill by voice vote amid pandemonium. The Lower House saw vehement protests by anti-Telangana MPs against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Meira Kumar, the Speaker of the House, ordered that the live telecast of the proceeding be stopped as MPs sloganeered against the passage of the bill.

Several MPs who were suspended for resorting to fierce protests earlier attempted to enter the House and disrupt proceedings.


 
Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde tabled the controversial bill in the Lower House even as ministers from Seemandhra region trooped into the Well of the House opposing the separate statehood of Telangana.
