Michael Keaton Back In For Beetlejuice Sequel With Burton

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!
It’s Showtime! We can’t believe it either but it does seem that Michael Keaton is set to join Tim Burton for the never–really-expected sequel to BEETLEJUICE.
The ex-Batman and Beetle has revealed that during the development of the new film over the last year, he’s been speaking to the legendary unique director and he’ll only do it if Burton is a part of it and…it’s pretty darn likely. Speaking to MTV News, Keaton said the following:
“I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again… But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another.
He continued:
“[So] now it looks like he is involved, and without giving too much away we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.”
So after a few years of endless rumours, that does seem pretty set for BEETLEJUICE 2 – or BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE..? It also makes a lot of sense after Burton recently returning to FRANKENWEENIE and a resurgent Michael Keaton in ROBOCOP (and the upcoming BIRDMAN) – it’s all starting to come together for them both again and I, for one, am glad to see it.
THN expect it to be a couple more years though before we see this because BIG EYES is just being finished and Burton also has children’s fantasy MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN set for the summer of 2015.
