World press photo contest: Have a look at world’s best photographs and get enchanted!



The pictures that you are about to see our not some ordinary photographs. These pictures are world’s best photographs in the world at present.

This photograph taken at the sea shore of Djibouti, east Africa bagged the honour of being at the top in world’s biggest Press Photo contest. This picture has been clicked by American photojournalist John Stanmeyer. The shadowy people shown in the image are trying to get signal in their mobile phone from neighbouring country Somalia so that they could talk to their relatives before starting a new life.

There were several photographs that were selected to be honoured in the world press photo contest. The first prize in the category of spot news story went to the photographer of Reuters in Siberia. The picture shows the protest in Syria in a very dramatic manner.

This was the 57th contest and over one lakh entries were registered for 18 categories, out of which only 53 were selected. The winning images will be shown in many exhibition for an year. The exhibition will begin on 18th April.
