The founder of Tehelka Tarun Tejpal has condemned the chargesheet, in which he has been charged with rape and called it a political vendetta. Tejpal has been accused of sexual assault by a colleague during an event of the magazine and the Goa police claimed just a day before that they have enough evidences to charge him with rape.
Stressing over the part that he is innocent, Tejpal told NDTV that, "Goa police chargesheet is simply political vendetta. There is absolutely no truth in any of the charges against me. There is hundred per cent chance I will be found innocent."
He added that the CCTV footage in the possession of police is clear evidence of him being innocent but the police are not releasing those tapes. The bail plea of Tejpal is to be heard on March 4th. They had been a great commotion regarding the e-mails of Tejpal as it was learnt that he admitted his crime in that but if Tejpal is believed, he didn’t do so in any e-mail.
"That's total rubbish. I never admitted in emails," added Tejpal.
Mr Tejpal, who is 50 years old, is charged with rape, unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures and taking advantage of one's official position.
