Highway is amazing!
It’s a one-time watch!
How boring!

Don’t be surprised if every second person, who has seen Highway, will give you a different opinion about Alia Bhatt’s film. It’s a one-of-a-kind movie, which our Bollywood filmmakers don’t like to produce due to its minimal mass appeal.

You might feel that it’s not a long film with a running time of only 2 hours and 15 minutes, but ideally, the film should have ended within an hour. Highway is like a cricket match where the entertainment quotient is extremely high in the first and the last 10 overs, and the rest of the match is just for a few passionate ones.

Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt have given their best performance till date, thanks to director Imtiaz Ali. In fact, Alia appears to be a completely different actor from what she was in SOTY.

Is Highway a typical ‘Imtiaz Ali film’?
We have seen Imtiaz’s Jab We Met, Rockstar and Love Aaj Kal, and all his fans know what to expect from him. In Highway too, the lead characters fall in love during their journey, but the distance is so long that you might get bored. Also, that fun element often found in Imtiaz's films, is missing this time. The film might also end up collecting less money at the Box Office as apart from Alia and Randeep, there are no other popular faces.

How are Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in the film?
Imtiaz Ali is known for extracting the best out of his actors. Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor & Deepika Padukone- many actors have given their best in Imtiaz’s films. You will be surprised to see Alia Bhatt in the film. Nobody would have expected her to turn into a mature actor in her second film. This film will establish her amongst the talented actors of the industry. We can say that she has taken the right ‘HIGHWAY’ to stardom. Don't be surprised if she takes home a few awards for her performance this year.
Randeep Hooda is equally good in the film, but Alia takes away the limelight in the end. The last 20 minutes of the film are better than the entire film.

What about the music?
A.R Rahman’s music comes with a guarantee of ‘super-hit’, but the maestro couldn’t deliver a soulful music this time. Music is a few notches above average, but it is not something which will stay in your playlist forever.

THE BIG QUESTION-Should I watch HIGHWAY?
Take this highway only and only if you can bear the long journey, which has a stunning end. The film doesn’t come under the ‘Paisa-Vasool’ catergory.
If you are thinking to wait till the movie premiers on TV, it might be a bad idea. This film is only for the theaters. It could be a great film for international audience, but Imtiaz could have cut it down by at least an hour.
