Last year Micromax announce the Canvas HD in January end and started booking for the phone on Valentine’s Day. The company outsold the available stock on less than a day. This year we have been waiting for the company to launch a good flagship, or some special phone on the day. But the company chose only to bring a better battery phone to the market today.
The new phone called the Power A96 is a 5-inch smartphone under the Canvas series, with a 480 x 854 pixels display resolution. The phone has 1.3 GHz quad-cCore processor to run the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS (with customizations). It seems the company was in a hurry to get this phone on the shelves of stores for the day. Micromax should have gone with an Android KitKat OS phone.
“It really is quite baffling how the company continue to push such old Android versions in 2014. Without a proper upgrade plan, this is just bad consumer experience, opines Android OS.
There is 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and 32 GB of expandable memory. Does sound disappointing! The phone also has got an 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front vga camera.
The best part of the phon, however is it's 4000 mAh battery, which according to the company “ lets you enjoy a Talk time of 13.5 hours and a Standby time of 450 hours.” The company also offers enhanced power management options in the phone.
The phone has come for sale today at a price of Rs. 9900 at the company’s online store. For the store click here. Recently the company launched the Canvas Juice A77 Jelly Bean phone with a 3000 mAh battery.
