Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is reportedly interested in owning a stake in an Indian Premier League (IPL) team.
The superstar was recently present at a marathon organized by BJ
Wadia hospital for under priviledged children. Wadia group scion Ness
Wadia was also present at the event and it is believed that Salman
enquired about the IPL from Ness, English daily Mid-Day reported.
Ness owns the team Kings XI Punjab along with former girlfriend Preity Zinta.
Quoting sources, the report says that there is no clear indication that he will pick up a stake in an IPL team of his choice.
"He has been making inquiries with Ness. In fact, he has also been
asking his other friends about the same. The actor is trying to work out
how he can get a piece of the IPL pie as he loves cricket and has a lot
of cricketer friends," the report quotes the sources as saying.
Several Bollywood stars hold shares in various teams of the IPL.
Shah Rukh Khan
along with Juhi Chawla and husband Jai Mehta are the co-owners of
Kolkata Knight Riders. Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are the
co-owners of Rajasthan Royals.
Salman's brother Sohail Khan also owns Mumbai Heroes, a cricket team that plays in Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).
