Wellington: Skipper Brendon McCullum led from the front as New Zealand
scripted a remarkable rearguard action against India to gallop to a
325 run lead on the fourth day of the ongoing second Test here on
Monday. Together with wicketkeeper BJ Watling, the hard-hitting
right-hander added a world record 352 run stand for the sixth wicket.
McCullum remained unbeaten of 281, and became the first Kiwi to
score back to back double tons. If he reaches 300 on Tuesday, he will be
the first from his country to do so. Watling, who got out after a
367-ball 124, fell only two short of the highest by a New Zealand No. 7
in second innings.
